The House
You’ve seen the picture of the house. It's stately, in a great neighborhood with numerous walking trails and a good commute to work. Although the house is big (our master bed/bath area is 24 x 34!) it has a very livable layout.(I may change my mind about that after I clean it a few times though.) When I first walked into the house, it was as if I had taken a step back in time . . . about 25 years! To say the house is in need of an update would be an understatement! If I wondered what I was going to do with my spare time or concerned I would be bored, I needn’t have worried. I will be painting, staining and redecorating for months. I’ve drawn up plans for a kitchen remodel to include new appliances, lighting, cabinet refinishing and adding an island. We’ve starting replacing light fixtures on the LFAW (light fixture a week) plan. Mel had put on some weight staying at the Homewood Suites for 6 months and asked me to help him loose a few pounds. I accepted the role of personal trainer. He didn’t realize part of my plan would be to keep him so busy he wouldn’t have time to eat! After my initial reaction of “OMG, how many ugly gold light fixtures can one house have?” I recognize the potential of this house and am excited to get started on it. I’ll post before/after pictures as they’re completed. Gotta run to the paint store; it’s 75 out now, expected to reach mid 80’s by the weekend. Life is good!
